Think of Mouse and Keyboard Recorder as a virtual VCR for what you do. Instead of recording and playing back videos, this application records what you do (mouse gestures and key presses) and plays it back for you. If you recorded yourself launching the web browser and visiting a certain site, then, when Mouse and Keyboard Recorder plays it back, it also launches your web browser and visits that website.

Mouse and Keyboard Recorder’s installation file is less than 1MB. The setup wizard that shows up when you run the aforementioned file is straightforward and quickly guides you through the installation process. You can install the application on both modern and older versions of the Windows operating system.

Just like with Key Presser (another application from the same developer, application that automatically presses a key on the keyboard for you), Mouse and Keyboard Recorder’s interface is very simple. There are two, big buttons in the right hand side for starting a recording and for playing a recording. When you start a recording, Mouse and Keyboard Recorder will hide out of sight and let you go about your business; once you’re done, you can hit the Stop button from the bottom right hand corner of the screen, or you can press the Shift + F3 hotkey.

You will then be asked to save the recording. All saved recordings are displayed in the bottom part of Mouse and Keyboard Recorder’s interface. Select a recording, hit the Repeat button or the Alt + F3 hotkey, and the application will do whatever you did in the recording. Alternatively, you can schedule recordings to be run automatically. You can set up a schedule from the Tools -> Scheduled Tasks menu. You can set it up so that a recording is run daily, weekly, monthly, or during custom intervals of time.

Mouse and Keyboard Recorder is only free to try. The trial version is limited to repeating a recording no more than 5 times.

Record something you need to do but don’t want to do yourself, then let the software do that thing again and again for you – that is what you can do with Mouse and Keyboard Recorder.

Pros

The installation file is less than 1MB. Support for many Windows editions is provided. Hotkeys are supported. Schedule recordings to be run automatically and set it up so the computer is shut down when repeating finishes. Records and plays back whatever you did on the computer. Key Presser, Mouse Recorder, and Mouse Clicker are included in Mouse and Keyboard Recorder.

Cons

The trial version of Mouse and Keyboard Recorder provides limited functionality; it won’t repeat a recording more than 5 times.
